What's New in 2006-07?
- January 30, 2007 --- A new computer virus has been detected that exploits a certain vulnerability in Symantec Antivirus (the version we use on campus). This exploit only affects users of the Windows 2000/ XP operating systems. In order to ensure that you are protected from this vulnerability, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to the latest version. The latest version is available for download from http://virus.bw.edu (on-campus only). This version of antivirus software works with Windows 2000, XP and Vista.
If you currently have a version of Symantec Antivirus installed you can simply install the new version over your current installation. If you have another antivirus product (McAfee, AVG, Norton, etc...), you will have to uninstall your old antivirus software before installing Symantec Antivirus.
If you have any problems or questions, contact the HelpDesk at 826-7000.
